Richardson was 1 of only 29 men of  "Co. I" who were mustered out in 12/6/1864, of the men who were in the original muster of  85 on 11/21/1861. The Rev. Daniel L. Richardson was a Methodist minister after the Civil War, in Vertrees, Kentucky.

* The log cabin was lived in until November 14, 1947, when it was destroyed by a tornado! (from account of  Mr. Duvall,  Nov. 1996, who is the current owner of the property and who survived the tornado in the kitchen of the old log cabin.)

** Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Kentucky Volumes I and II (Frankfort, KY 1866). The 10th KY Vol Inf.  served under General Sherman and General Thomas, the "Rock of  Chickamaunga", to name a few. At Jonesboro, GA , 9/1/1864, the 10th KY Vol Inf.  "... was the first regiment to break the rebel lines and captured the 6th and 7th Arkansas rebel regiments and their colors"... Company I of the 10th KY Vol Inf., even with 7 replacements, had the lowest number of men to mustered out  12/6/1864 of any company in 10th Kentucky Vol. Inf. Regiment. (note: in Volume II, the list of men  in Co. I, mustering out has only 11 names, including DLR, but the official tally shows 36 - 7 replacements).  A Company I, 10th KY Inf. (US) association has been formed by a descendant of one of the original officers:
